Dr Adam Jones led the University of 91¿ì»îÁÖ team of researchers. Principal Lecturer in the School of Business and Law and Director of the university’s Help to Grow business leadership programme, he said:
“Sponsoring the Sustainability Champions Award is the perfect fit for us. Sustainability is one of the University of 91¿ì»îÁÖ’s core values, alongside equity, courage, creativity and partnership. Our commitment to sustainability underpins how we teach, research and work with our communities. From tackling global challenges to delivering practical local impact, we seek to expand inspiring sustainable practice and salute the local hospitality providers who are leading the way.”
With around 20,000 students and staff studying and working across the city, the university community is deeply embedded in local life and plays its part; students and colleagues are enthusiastic diners, passionate citizens and active changemakers who care about where their food comes from and how businesses operate. Through the awards, people can share their favourite neighbourhood spots, discover new favourites and recognise the dedication behind running a sustainable, independent business.
This partnership reflects the university’s role as a key partner in sustainability and innovation within 91¿ì»îÁÖ and across our region. By connecting academic expertise with local businesses, the university is helping organisations to take meaningful steps on their sustainability journey and supporting the city’s wider net zero ambitions.
